The PSA process for oxygen production is based on the excellent adsorption capacity of nitrogen on synthetic Zeolithes. Air flows under pressure over an adsorber filled with Zeolithes and nitrogen is adsorbed while oxygen goes through.
Production of product Oxygen gas is a continuous process. At a time one adsorber is producing oxygen and the another is regenerating. The production cycle is approx. one minute and the change-over takes place automatically by help of change-over valves. During production the inlet and outlet valves of the particular adsorber are open. While a particular adsorber is under production the other adsorber is under regeneration. Regeneration is done by purging of product gas. Purging is done continuously and during regeneration the inlet valve of the adsorber is closed and the vent valve is open. The vent valve closes at the end of 50 sec. and also at the same time the purge control valve opens for faster pressurisation to achieve the same pressure. After 60 sec. the adsorber change-over takes place again. The unit is standard designed to have a continuous production without stops. Optional we can install a vent valve control unit after the mixing vessel. O2 has to be vented to a safe area.
